Giving Back

The Iditarod Trail Invitational race has always been about the human experience and solidarity - between participants and with the remote communities encountered on the Iditarod Trail. Since its inception, the ITI participants, staff and volunteers have have made it a priority to support local communities and protect the environment.

To give back in an official capacity and reaffirm our full commitment to the support of local communities and of the environment, we set up The Intrepid Path Association. Our work focuses on improving schooling conditions for local children, increasing living standards of communities along the Iditarod Trail and protecting the sanctity of the pristine environment.

This year, the Intrepid Path has partnered with GivenGain to raise funds to support rural Alaskan communities. Funds raised through this initiative will support community-identified needs, ensuring assistance is guided by local priorities and focused on long-term resilience. Rather than limiting support to race week, the partnership is designed to encourage sustained engagement and year-round giving tied to athlete participation.

Together, we can celebrate resilience and community by supporting the people who keep the Iditarod Trail alive.
